I have been advised, through the good offices of one micheinnz, who heard it from one submarine_bells, of a motherlode of Music From Back When Music Was Good thanks to You Tube. As I am an IHUG victim customer, actually watching a whole lot of videos myself is not an option (downloading the first few seconds to check that it is the right song is about all I'm able to do), but at the very least I can let other people know about this.
kdiggitydoggy, I can't recommend the last link highly enough. It's fairly much the first the public got to know of the Flying Nun Records phenomenon, and it's got Robert Scott of the Bats on bass and (I think) Martin Phillipps of the Chills on guest keyboards. (It's also possibly the cheapest recording to have made the Top 20 in my lifetime...)
