Currently I have a computer on my desk (well, under it, but the keyboard and monitor are on it so I suppose that counts) and it appears to be working for once. Cross fingers, touch Formica and all that lark.

So, what have I missed over the last few weeks?

No worries. You might notice that (unless it was one of the earliest batches) it would actually be postmarked some time this year... shows how disorganised I've been lately...

I got a card from you that is very nifty. I wish I'd kept better track of many folks' addresses (I'm sure I have it around here somewhere) now. >.<

In other news, I'm up to 5'6". You didn't ask; it was just waiting to be said.

I was hoping it would get through... I couldn't remember what your actual address was so just sent it to where I sent it last year.

After too much mostly-waiting, I finally got somewhere in the search for handicapped heroines. My post about that is here: http://aeb.livejournal.com/227975.html . {SMILE}

Good to see that someone's managed to find some stuff for you... I was fairly much stuck for anything to find because I'm not really a romance novel reader at all (I'd probably end up flipping quickly through pages of Feelings and stuff looking for actual plot and world-building and stuff like that). I still can't think of anything better than Birds of Prey, which even if not much of a romance at least has a character stuck in a wheelchair who doesn't let that stop her from having a life.

Hey, Oracle is one of the best suggestions I can confirm. I felt the TV Birds of Prey worked best for her, but I'm warming to the Oracle/Nightwing pairing you first suggested. I just need to figure out which comics it's in. So far I haven't, but I haven't gotten serious about searching, either.

I'm also about less than 30 pages from being able to confirm one of the books your friend suggested when you asked here on your journal. It's the Marjorie Liu, and I like the story well enough to want to check out some of the author's other books. I'd call the book modern fantasy with an extra emphasis on relationships, which sounds great to me. {SMILE}

You're doing better with getting recs than most of the folks I asked. {SMILE}

Hope the reason you've been absent is that you've been able to do interesting stuff then... will keep an eye on trillian to see whether you're ever back on messenger or anything like that.
