Re: Remember there was Wombie... lol

I'd also like to see the documentary about Chants R&B that was mentioned.

(and it was the bike that was Indian, not Hannibal the Cannonball, but you know that already...)

Re: Remember there was Wombie... lol

They are, but the bands were familiar with each other... the liner notes on the Chants' compilation CD are signed "Dave Hogan, Unknown Blues".

Re: Remember there was Wombie... lol

I currently use Komodo for doing my editing, but probably any text editor will do... I've been finding it just a little bit flaky at times so if you find anything better, let me know.

Re: "X(HT)ML"... The way it was explained to me is that any valid XHTML is by definition valid XML code. As we've gone to Windows 7 at work I'm now getting a few .docx and .xlsx files to deal with which I understand are also using XML for formatting. (Have never seen a .mdbx file yet but I presume they exist...)

Firefox doesn't have a HTML editing facility at all that I'm aware of. In IE you used to be able to open up a web page in notepad but they've got rid of that now (which is quite annoying... while I'm not opposed in principle to IE's trying to copy all the things that make Firefox good, it's a shame to see them also copy about the one thing that really makes Firefox annoying).

Have fun with your cow-orkers. I'm still trying to deal with people who simply can not put the right data in the right field and who can't figure out that if you have multiple applications for the same person, you link each individual application to that person, and not create multiple identical people to link the multiple applications to...

Re: This has bugger all to do with Invercargill, but...

Well, she was everywhere in the 1970s. Still surprised that she's sold more than Madonna though (not that I've got much time for Madonna either...)

Currently I'm listening to a lot of The Church (The Blurred Crusade, in particular, is really good) and Husker Du's Warehouse: Songs and Stories (I'd love to see someone teach the Pogues She Floated Away, give them a couple of bottles of whisky and just leave a tape recorder running to hear what happened...)

Re: This has bugger all to do with Invercargill, but...

Got about eight of the Church's CDs now after a fortuitous purchase on Trade Me a few months back. They're a good albums band.

She Floated Away has got quite a drunken-Celtic sort of feel to the song... I'll have to play it next time you're down here. And the Oils might surprise you... it's amazing what you can find on the internet if you look hard enough. One thing of theirs I've actually heard is a Grateful Dead cover, and one thing of theirs that I haven't heard is a version of Pub with No Beer.
