New Zealand Music Month - Day 14 [May. 14th, 2009|12:15 pm]
[Tags|, ]

The main reason I've left it this late to link to something by Split Enz is that I knew I was going to be away from home mid-month and wanted to have a stock of links in reserve for when I wasn't going to be able to just dart into the lounge to quickly check the band line-up on any particular CD.

This particular song, Crosswords, is one of the videos that got missed off the band's DVD compilation of a few years back. The line-up at this time were: Tim Finn - vocals, piano; Neil Finn - vocals, guitar; Robert Gillies - trumpet, saxophone; Eddie Rayner - keyboards; Nigel Griggs - bass; Noel Crombie - percussion; Malcolm Green - drums.

Ah, yes. The band of whom my mother used to say "If they're so good, why can't they just wear normal clothes and stand still and sing?"

Also just wanted to say I've been really enjoying these.

(Thanks for the honey; we must have a proper catch-up one of these days.)

Good to hear you're enjoying them... I'm trying to find stuff that's interesting, stuff that not everybody already knows, stuff that's got a fair bit of variety (both in genre and in decade) and stuff that isn't going to scare too many people.

I'll find you one of these days (in fact I was going to try this afternoon, except that I wanted to go back via Quarry Hills while the weather was at least vaguely dry and today looked more promising on that front than tomorrow was looking...)
