I have just found out that there is now a four-CD set of the Fourmyula's albums (including one they recorded but never released) just coming out from EMI.

I foresee unexpected expenditure in the near future...

They've been getting a lot of airtime on national radio recently, if you want to chase it up google
site:radionz.co.nz fourmyula
and there is a lot of audio in various formats if you follow the links far enough.

Have been a bit behind with music news for the last few weeks (this is what happens when I've got a long term boarder... not getting much chance to listen to the radio on Saturday afternoons) so I hadn't heard of it before borrowing a Listener and reading an article on the Lost Album.

I know there's going to be stuff all around the internet about it (except places I normally visit)... I'm just enough of an old-fashioned dinosaur that I'd rather have a lump of plastic in my hand rather than just a bunch of data on my computer.

It is not so much that the album is available as that members of the band have been doing a lot of interviews about their history.

Having finally succumbed to temptation and bought the damn thing, I notice that Nick Bollinger was pinged to write the booklet so I wouldn't be surprised if he extracted as many reminiscences as he could from them for historical purposes.

Most interesting is that Ali Richardson in a quote corroborates the story about he and Wayne Mason working from a "Teach Yourself Songwriting" book; I just had a quick google and there was such a book (written by a Martin Lindsay and with a revised edition in print in 1966) so this may have been where the "wrote a hit after reading a book telling them how" story originated (the one Matinee Idle told about Martin Phillipps; last year, I think it was, or maybe the year before).
