Reading an item about a particularly egregious example of political hypocrisy, I noticed a worrying number of replies commenting something along the lines of "awwww, but she's cute!", as if that forgives her for being a part of something that she's just voted to criminalise.

Honestly, if I was going to take attractiveness into account at the ballot box, instead of political ability, I'd be voting for Prime Minister Beckingsale and Deputy Prime Minister Pfeiffer...

Would said Prime Minister Beckingsale do a significantly worse job at running the country? I, for one, suspect not.

Lily Allen's was funnier. To place my own interpretation on events:
Lily - "You people and your file sharing are ruining the music industry"
Critics - "Hey Lily, about those mix tapes of other musicians work you put on your website for people to download"
Lily - "You are being mean to me, and I am leaving the music industry forever. FOREVER"[1]
[1] For values of forever including starting her own record label a year and a half later.
